A helicopter engineer by profession, Ali is a keen sportsman and has represented his country at long distance swimming. He has enjoyed considerable success winning the Class 2 World Championship in ’96 and ’98, and the Class 2 Central Asia and Middle East Championship in ’95 and ’96. He made his debut in Class 1 in ’95 and has gone on to score 6 Grands Prix wins, 14 podium placings and 4 Pole Position win.

A long serving member of the Victory Team, he joined as General Manager in 1989. He formed an established partnership with the late Hamed Buhaleba winning a wealth of Middle East and U.A.E. titles. He won his first Class 1 race in ’92 (as a non-point scoring exhibition entrant) and since won 10 Grands Prix, placed 19 times on the podium and won 7 Pole Positions.
