DESERT STORM UNITES POLLI/ PHARAONMilan-Italy-Just three weeks after having announced his departure from Team Jolly Motor Racing, the current UIM Class One World Champion, Laith Pharaon has announced that he will team up with the veteran and 97 archrival Eduardo Polli in the 45-foot Aurantium catamaran, which finished second in the 97 season. " I am very happy to be back in the saddle and be able to fly the number 1 on the side of the boat " said Pharaon. The news has come as a thundering storm to the Class One circus where the stakes are high for the 1998 season. With a fleet of 15 boats which include such top teams as Victory, Spirit of Norway, and Jolly Motors, the chase for the prized Number 1 promises to be exciting. " Right after the news broke that Laith would remain on the sidelines, I invited him to look at my new program." said Polli. "After seeing the package which included a redesigned cat and a switch to a diesel program with a three speed transmission, I was very impressed with what Eduardo has put together and we quickly came to terms on pairing together for the 98 season" said Pharaon This is a new program and as with any new programs you need to have a certain amount of test time under your belt to work out all the gremlins. As for John Tomlinson, he will be running the US circuit in 98 with a competitive boat and will be looking to re-capture the US-1 title across the Atlantic.
