In 1999 drivers and throttlemen from 11 countries made up the 13 boat fleet that competed in the unrelenting drama and excitement of the U.I.M. Class 1 World Powerboat Championship.  The ten race series ran between May and November at venues across Scandinavia, Europe and the Middle East.
